Welcome to the Writing Centre! Our mission is to support students in developing their academic writing, presentation, and communication skills. Whether you're an undergraduate or graduate student, our centre is here to guide you through the writing process, helping you express your ideas clearly and confidently. The Writing Centre provides personalized feedback, workshops, and resources to meet the diverse writing need of our academic community. 

Meet the Writing Advisor

Our Writing Advisor, Aleks Skrba, is dedicated to helping student grow as writers. With years of experience in academic writing, editing, and teaching, Aleks offers one-on-one consultations to provide tailored feedback and strategies for improvement. Whether you need help organizing your thoughts, understanding the nuances of academic integrity, or refining your final draft, Aleks is here to assist you at any stage of your writing journey.

The Writing Centre offers the following services: 

  • One-on-One Writing Consultations: Personalized feedback on essays, research papers, lab reports, theses, and more
  • Writing Resources: Access to online guides and handouts on grammar, style, citation formats, and academic integrity
  • Plagiarism and Academic Integrity Support: Guidance on how to avoid plagiarism and understand the principles of academic honesty
  • Graduate Writing Support: specialized support for graduate students working on theses, dissertations, or complex research papers
  • Presentations and Visual Communication: Assistance with preparing presentations, slides, and other visual communication tools
  • Drop-In Hours: Quick, informal consultations for last-minute questions and minor revisions

The Writing Centre offers interactive sessions on topics such as academic writing basics, essay structure, citations and referencing, and advanced writing techniques.
